Dear God, I do want to discover your will and do it.  Forgive me when I lose this focus.  May this worthwhile goal mark my life this day and in the days ahead!  In the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Evolution Weekend Program

This program for 2011 will take place on Saturday March 19 from 1:00 pm till 4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church 1250 Watson Rd. Mt. Pleasant, MI.  It will center around the viewing of a DVD entitled “Creation”.  This is a documentary of Charles Darwin’s life and the development of the concept of Evolution.  There will be a discussion  and questions and Light refreshments will be served.  For further information, call Rev. Red Cross Food Pantry has need

The Red Cross Food Pantry has a great need for good items right now.  Anything you can donate will be most welcome.  One suggestion: SAV-A-LOT  has large cans of spaghetti and meatballs for only $1.60!  Bring all items to church and place them in the wooden bins outside the office.  The Crawley’s will deliver them.  Thank You.

Lydia Circle

Lydia Circle will begin meeting for the year on Wednesday, March 2 at 12:00 pm.  We will be studying Revelation and books can be purchased from Nancy Kinney for $8.  Bring a sandwich and join this lively study group!

Deacon Events

A reminder from the Deacons that Communion envelopes are available in the pews.  A dollar or two on Communion Sundays will go a long way toward the ministry of helping and caring carried on by the Board of Deacons.  Thank you.

Care & Share

Care & Share is alive and well within our church.  If you have a need, please phone Stephanie in the office (773-9609) and she will take care of you.

Fourth Annual Progressive Dinner

Please plan to attend the Fourth Annual Progressive Dinner on Saturday, April 16, 2011.  Last year 35 people participated and we had a great time!  Please plan to join us this year.

We will meet in the Church parking lot for those who wish to carpool.  The locations for appetizers and entrees have not yet been finalized completely.  Appetizers for the entire group will begin at 5:30 p.m. at one location.  Members will go to their selected entrée location at 6:45 p.m. and then the entire group returns to the Witherspoon Room for dessert at 8:15 p.m.  There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board.  Please contact Carol Shannon 989-506-5751 or abbeallie@yahoo.com with questions or if you wish to serve as a host site this year.
