PRAYER CONCERNS

Prayers of Concern for Shelly Roy,  John Kingsnorth (Nancy Klunzinger’s brother),  Sarah Cox, Dorothy Nugent, Sue Blodgett, Cindy Miles, Warren Long, Tim O’Brian (The Loubert’s brother-in-law), Alfred O’Brian (The Loubert’s nephew) and Iran, Iraq and Jordon.

Prayers of Sympathy for Vern and Lois Austin and family for the loss of Lois’s brother, Ted Bouterse who died January 1, 2011 at the age of 84.

God of new life and new living, as this New Year unfolds, help us to hear your loving voice proclaim to each of us, “This is my beloved child, with whom I am well pleased.”  As those baptized in Jesus’ name, call us to a new way of living, such that the world might recognize your love and grace at work through us.  Amen.

Prayer taken from the 2011 Mission Yearbook for Prayer and Study.

“Twelfth Night” Big Success!

The “Twelfth Night” gathering the church held on Wednesday January 5th was very successful! We gathered at 6:00 pm. for pizza and King’s Cake.  Dave Patten and Lois Miller were crowned King and Queen for the evening when they found a whole almond in their pieces of King’s cake.  Decorations from all over the church building were taken down and packed away while we learned a bit more about Epiphany, the coming of the Wise Men and the baptism of Jesus.  Young and old alike had a great time.

Children’s Grief Camp

Losing a loved one can be especially confusing and devastating to a child.  MidMichigan Home Care and Hospice of Helping Hands understand the challenges these children face and are once again uniting to host the fifth annual children’s grief camp, Camp Warm Hearts.  The indoor weekend camp, open to children and teens between the ages of five and 15, will offer an opportunity for children to meet others with similar experiences.  The camp provides the children with coping mechanisms, unique ways of dealing with grief, as well as fun filled activities including sledding, arts and crafts, campfire activities and much more.

The deadline to register for the camp is January 14, 2011.

Tuition for this year’s camp is free due to the generous donations of Camp Warm Heart’s supporters.

For more information or to register, please contact MidMichigan Home Care toll free at (800) 862-5002.
